Tanzania and Egypt Deepen Strategic Partnership Through Historic State Visit

The State Visit of H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to Tanzania marked another significant milestone in strengthening the longstanding friendship and strategic partnership between Tanzania and Egypt.

Hosted by H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, the visit featured high-level bilateral talks, the signing and exchange of cooperation agreements, and the Tanzania–Egypt Business Forum, which brought together government leaders, investors and business executives from both countries to unlock new opportunities in trade, investment and industrial development.

During the Forum, President Samia highlighted the successful cooperation between the two countries, including the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project, delivered by Egyptian firms, and reaffirmed Tanzania’s commitment to attracting more Egyptian investment through TISEZA. She emphasized Tanzania’s strategic location, investor-friendly environment and access to regional and continental markets, positioning the country as a gateway to Africa.

The Forum also showcased the growing economic relationship between Tanzania and Egypt, with Egyptian investments worth approximately USD 1.4 billion across 44 registered projects, creating over 4,400 jobs. Participants witnessed the exchange of business agreements covering engineering, construction, pharmaceuticals, logistics, fertilizers, food processing and financial services, paving the way for stronger private-sector collaboration.

The successful State Visit reaffirmed the shared vision of both nations to promote sustainable investment, industrialization, job creation and economic prosperity, while opening a new chapter of cooperation between East and North Africa.
