TISEZA Launched to Streamline Investment in Tanzania

The newly established Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) has officially commenced operations, marking a major milestone in the Government’s efforts to improve the investment climate by eliminating bureaucratic obstacles.
Speaking at the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) after visiting the TISEZA pavilion, Minister of State for Planning and Investment, Hon. Prof. Kitila Mkumbo (MP), highlighted that the formation of TISEZA is a transformative step aimed at making Tanzania a more attractive destination for both local and foreign investors.
“With a single authority, investors will be able to complete all necessary processes in one place,” said Prof. Mkumbo. “This will reduce hassle and significantly enhance ease of doing business in the country.”
TISEZA was established through merger of the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) and the Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) under the Investment and Special Economic Zones Act No. 6 of 2025, the The Authority began its operations on 1 July 2025.
Among the key reforms introduced by the new law are:
-
The establishment of a One-Stop Facilitation Centre, which will centralise and digitise investment-related government services;
-
The implementation of clear criteria for strategic investor status;
-
Enhanced coordination and efficiency in handling investor needs from registration to aftercare.
TISEZA’s establishment reflects the Government’s commitment to building a more efficient, investor-friendly framework that supports sustainable economic growth and development.
